APICS Tampa Bay achieved the 2018 Platinum award!

The Florida West Coast Chapter has achieved the APICS Chapter Benchmarking and Reporting (CBAR) Platinum award level.  This award demonstrates the chapter’s dedication to providing exemplary member services and professional development opportunities to APICS members and customers.

The CBAR program was created by APICS volunteer leaders, to recognize chapters that go beyond the minimum required standards, to provide exemplary service to their members and customers.  Adherence to the guidelines established in CBAR and the Partner Agreement ensures the growth, development, and value-added continuous improvements of APICS chapters by evaluating each chapter against a set of criteria that has a direct and positive impact on chapter performance.

APICS Tampa Bay, the leading association for supply chain and operations management, invites members of local professional associations, the academic community and business professionals to our Eleventh Annual Holiday Networking Event on December 11, 2018 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the DoubleTree Hotel, 3050 North Rocky Point Drive West.

We are quite excited to have Mrs. Teresa Conte, the Marketing Director for McFarland, Goud, Lyons, Sullivan law Firm, as our guest speaker this year! Her presentation will provide an exciting perspective on the value of networking. She will enlighten the audience as to what networking can do for you and will provide tips on how to be very effective at developing your network.

Teresa C. Conte is a graduate of The University of North Florida with a double major in Marketing and Management. She is originally from Long Island and moved to Dunedin, Florida.

She has had many opportunities in her career through the relationships she has built with her classmates, employers, civic organizations, and volunteer positions. Her networks are professional along with boosters for her 4 children’s activities.

She started her career in banking working in the collection department (First Union National Bank) and worked her way to Vice President of the Bank (Bank of America & Iberia Bank). Through networking with other professionals, she met the managing partner of McFarland Gould Law, who approached her, to start their grass root marketing department at the law firm with the goal was to teach all employees on how to market their areas of practice.

She has been a Rotarian since high school and is the past President of the Oldsmar Eastlake Club. She has won Rotarian of the year twice in the last five years.

She is a graduate of Leadership Pinellas – Class of 2013 – She served on the selection committee, 2017 was Selection Committee chair, and Recruitment Chair 2016.

She has served on the Board of Directors for Clearwater Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. as the Secretary for nearly 12 years. The organization provides HUD certified home buyer education classes, down payment assistance to first time homebuyers, rehab loans, and small business lending opportunities.

She serves on the Board of Directors for Directions for Living for the last 4 years. Direction for Living is Pinellas counties largest public mental health provider and child protection agency.

Career Services Manager Announcement: Craig Williams, CPIM

The Board of Directors for APICS Tampa Bay are pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Williams, CPIM as Career Services Manager.

Craig is an accomplished Supply Chain, Materials Management, and Operations Professional seeking a leadership role using analytics to build effective teams, improve operational performance, and increase supply chain ROI.

The Career Services Manager is an “in-transition” volunteer member actively seeking employment and is charged with supporting the Chapter’s employment-related services connecting local employers and APICS members. Specific duties are:
• Supporting member companies in identifying and sourcing local supply chain management candidates
• Identifying and communicating resources which may be of assistance to member job seekers
• Using the APICS Career Center to assist members in obtaining employment
