Sam Farney is principal of Supply Chain Advisors, an organization specializing in providing clients with education and process improvement for world-class supply chain management. He is a Lifetime C.P.M., holds a BS in marine engineering and has extensive formal training in supply management, process improvement and financial analysis.

Sam’s 35-year career with United Technologies Corporation included 28 years with the supply management team. His work included supplier process improvement initiatives, supply management training programs, MRO procurement and minority supplier development. At the Carrier division of UTC he was responsible for purchasing and material control, provided strategic procurement planning and purchased private label products, MRO and field assembled systems.

Sam is coauthor of Global Purchasing and Supply Management, Second Edition, released in 2004 and of Volume IV of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Knowledge Series titled The Supply Management Leadership Process and. His work has been noted in Purchasing and Inside Supply Management magazines as well as The Purchasing Handbook.
